R7 – Permission or extension to reside - Dependant of a Caymanian
Use this form:
A dependant of a Caymanian may be granted permission to reside in the Islands for a period of up to three years, subject to extension, from time to time, for further periods not exceeding three years on each occasion upon application made to the Chief Immigration Officer in the prescribed manner.
In considering an application, the Chief Immigration Officer shall satisfy himself-
(a) that the applicant is a dependant of a Caymanian;
(b) as to the character and health of the dependant;
(c) as to the ability of the Caymanian adequately to support the
dependant;
(d) that the dependant is covered by health insurance; and
(e) as to such other matters as he shall consider relevant.
An application submitted under this section shall be accompanied by the prescribed administrative fee and the prescribed repatriation fee. It should be noted that a dependant of a Caymanian does not have the right or ability to work or be employed.
“Dependant”, in relation to a Caymanian, means the Caymanian’s parent, grandparent, brother or sister being in each case, wholly or substantially dependent upon the Caymanian.

- What happens next?
- A letter will be sent to you, notifying you of the decision. If your application is refused, you have the right of appeal to the Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board within seven (7) days of the communication of the decision. Your appeal, accompanied with a CI$100 application fee, shall be made in writing addressed to the Secretary of the Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board, PO Box 1098, KY1-1102, Grand Cayman, CAYMAN ISLANDS.
