Dependant of Caymanian

Section 67(8)

This guidance should be read carefully before making an application to reside in the Cayman Islands as the dependant of a Caymanian.


The Immigration Law (2012 Revision) allows for the dependant of a Caymanian to be granted permission to reside in the Cayman Islands for a period of up to three years. This period may be extended for further periods not exceeding three years on each occasion.

'Dependent' in this context means the parent, grandparent, brother or sister of a Caymanian.

The dependant must be wholly or substantially dependent upon the Caymanian.

How do I apply for permission to reside as a dependant of a Caymanian?

You must complete the application form and submit it along with the requisite fees (see below) and the documents listed below to the Chief Immigration Officer, P.O Box 1098, Grand Cayman KY1-1102. You may also submit the application in person at the Department of Immigration, Elgin Avenue, George Town, Grand Cayman.

What documentation must I provide?

You are required to provide one fully completed application form. Note: failure to answer all questions may result in the application being returned to you. To complete a copy of the application form, please download Form R7.
When you submit your application you will be required to pay a non-refundable administrative filing fee of CI$150.00, a grant fee of CI$150.00 (refundable if the application is refused) and a non-refundable repatriation fee of CI$200.00.
