Migrants Pass Through

Published 4th June 8, 12:0am

Seventeen Cuban migrants opted to continue their journey yesterday (3 June) after arriving off Panama Canal Creek, Cayman Brac at 1:00 am the previous day. The 11 men and six women later stopped on Little Cayman after bad weather thwarted their first attempt to leave. They returned to the Brac and were allowed to wait offshore the Tiara Beach Dock, until more favourable weather conditions enabled their departure at 12:30 in the afternoon. The migrants were monitored by Immigration Officers as they left. They were last seen off the west end point of Cayman Brac.
