Published 1st May 2015, 2:34pm
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR APPLICANTS SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE GRANT OF THE RIGHT TO BE CAYMANIAN
Please be advised you that if you have dependants (whether children or spouse) who were granted Permanent Residence as a result of your being the substantive Permanent Residence Holder, the Immigration status of such persons will be affected in the event your application is successful.
You are hereby informed that any rights granted to dependants as a result of your permanent residence will cease upon the grant of Caymanian Status.
You are advised to seek guidance from the legal representative or immigration consulting professional of your choice as to the options available under the Immigration Law by which your dependants can continue to be legally and ordinarily resident in the Islands and to retain any employment rights previously granted.
In the event your application is successful you will be given a period of 45 days from the date of notice of your grant for the right to be Caymanian in which your dependant(s) should submit the necessary documentation to regularize their immigration status.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE DIRECTIONS GIVEN ABOVE WITHIN THE DESIGNATED TIMEFRAME MAY RESULT IN THE ADVERSE EFFECT OF YOUR DEPENDANTS’ RIGHT TO ENTER, REMAIN, RESIDE AND ENGAGE IN GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT IN THE ISLANDS.
Please contact the Caymanian Status & Permanent Residency Board Secretariat if you require additional information.
